4 Holiday & special Saturday duty

The 2027 Holiday & special Sat duty page holds the whole year's working public holidays and special Saturdays. There is no need to switch between cycles.

Read the sheet first

By Staff shows staff grouped by their 2027 centre, in seniority order, with Duty and Compensation for each date. By Date shows one holiday at a time. Use the Public Holiday / Special Saturday filter or the date jump buttons to find the date you need.

  1. Sign in and choose the correct name. In the lock panel, Staff / Senior select their own nickname. Admin can select only admin - George.
  2. Press Lock sheet and check whose name and lock time are displayed. Wait for the sheet to reload into your editing session.
  3. In By Staff, press Edit duties for the centre you need. In By Date, press Show all staff to open the editing list.
  4. On the correct staff row and holiday date, select a Duty and enter the Compensation date when appropriate. Read the row and date again before saving.
  5. You may press Done editing to disable that centre's controls while keeping the pending changes. This does not save them. If you press Save while centres are still being edited, Save finishes editing all three centres automatically.
  6. Press the page's Save changes to save all pending dates, or the relevant date card's Save changes to save only that date. Wait for confirmation and check the saved entries.
  7. Press Unlock sheet when finished. This frees the annual sheet for the next person.
Save before unlocking. If you unlock with unsaved changes, the page asks whether to discard them. Confirming discards those changes and releases the lock. Cancel the warning if you still need to save.

Minimum annual selections and registered counts

Each centre has a compact 2027 minimums card directly above its duty card: Happy Valley (HV), AKN 5 and AKN 3 (PT). The Special Saturday minimum and Public Holiday minimum are that centre's annual targets per staff member. Read the card matching your current 2027 staff allocation. A value of 0 means no minimum is specified; staff may select and save fewer duties.

Everyone can read the minimums. In By Staff, Admin holding the sheet lock can edit the three cards. Any Save minimums button saves the entered minimums for all three centres together. Staff cannot change these figures. By Date shows read-only minimum summaries above each centre; Admin can follow Edit minimums to the corresponding card in By Staff.

In By Staff, the two registered-count columns at the right count the staff member's saved duty selections for each holiday type. A non-empty duty, including On Duty 1–4, counts once for that date. A compensation date without a duty does not count. Compare those totals with the required minimums and arrange your selections accordingly.

The minimums are annual targets, not an automatic booking or a block on saving. Admin should save pending duty changes before using Save minimums, because saving the minimums reloads the page; confirming a discard warning abandons the pending duty edits. Changing a minimum does not select or remove a duty. Saving minimums keeps the sheet lock, so unlock it after finishing.

Compensation and the AL calendar

The editable Compensation field is the holiday-duty record. Its dot indicates whether that staff member is present in the AL calendar on that date. Saving this sheet does not write the name into the AL calendar; check and save the AL booking separately.

Admin also sees the read-only Compensation (AL) column. It searches the 2027 AL calendar automatically when the page loads and shows the AL-recorded date(s) linked to that working holiday, including AM / PM. The eye icon hides or shows it during that visit. It is omitted from the Show all staff editing panel. Other roles do not see or load this column.

A dash in Compensation (AL) means no uniquely linked date was found; a ? flags additional compensation whose source holiday is not uniquely identified. Unavailable means the source could not be read. Reload the holiday-duty page after saving changes in the AL calendar.
